Paul Feiler

[1918 - 2013]

Paul Feiler was born in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany in 1918.  He came to England in 1933, and studied at the Slade in London from 1936 – 1939, where fellow students included Patrick Heron, Bryan Wynter and Kenneth Armitage.

His first solo exhibition was at the Redfern Gallery in 1953, followed by four further exhibitions there in the 1950’s and two during the same decade at the Obelisk Gallery in Washington DC.  He has subsequently exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, and also in the United States, Hong Kong, Paris and Johannesburg.

His works are included in public collections throughout the UK including the Tate Gallery, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Manchester City Art Gallery and Kettles Yard, Cambridge.
